Declaration upon the support of business in Uzbekistan

The Minister of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan appended a declaration upon the support of business.

The Minister of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan Mr. Buritosh Mustafaev told the journalists, that the number of cases of unlawful interference into the business activity is reducing in the Republic.

"The lately adopted decrees and resolutions of the President of the country, directed to the further development and support of entrepreneurial activity, have instilled great confidence into businessmen, have expanded and strengthened guarantees of their rights and freedoms" the Minister said.

Herewith he has noted that the adoption in the country of a number of regulatory documents preventing unlawful intrusion into the activity of businessmen and establishing the order of control and inspection procedures, and also the rights and duties of checking officials, has yielded positive results.

For example, the share of the small business in Gross Domestic Product of the country composed 34,3 % for the 9 months of the last year, while the given parameter for the same period of the current year has already equaled 39 %. He has announced, that whereas judicial authorities has revealed 146 illegal inspections conducted without the permission of the Coordination council in 2002, there has been recorded only three cases of such a kind in 2005. The Minister has paid attention to the activization of businessmen in protection of their rights and legitimate interests.

He has emphasized, that in 2005 businessman have filed 31052 applications to taxation, customs, law-enforcement bodies and hygiene authorities and 95,8 % of them have been satisfied.

"Consequently, businessmen realize the rights, they understand more clearly and more precisely, how one is able to protect its legitimate interests" Mr. B. Mustafaev said.
